Chester Scott throws ceremonial first pitch at Cleveland Indians Progressive Field with 60 friends in attendance
Lakewood native Chester Scott threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Wednesday’s Cleveland Indians game against the Detroit Tigers, but he didn’t arrive alone. Scott made an entrance with about 60 of his friends who were all there to cheer him on. While Scott was dressed in an Indians uniform, everyone with him wore matching T-shirts that read “Chester’s 1st Pitch.”
Scott, who is a life-long Tribe fan, made his way out to Spring Training in Goodyear, Ariz., for the first time this year. While in Goodyear, Scott wanted to get the full Tribe Spring experience. He not only attended games, but also participated in Fantasy Camp and the Cleveland Indians Charities live auction, where he won the opportunity to come throw a first pitch at Progressive Field.
Scott said that his favorite Indians memory is Game 5 of the Yankees series in 1997, which is hard to beat, but we’re sure that his first pitch experience at Wednesday night’s game is a close second.
