Cleveland Indians players surprise RBI softball champs at Greater Cleveland Sports Awards
Cleveland Indians players, led by Michael Brantley and Jason Kipnis, surprised a group of softball players being honored at Thursday’s Greater Cleveland Sports Awards.
The Cleveland senior softball team won the RBI Softball World Series this summer, and were honored at Progressive Field thereafter.
On Thursday, the team received the Amateur Athlete of the Year award for its accomplishments — and got a big surprise. Michael Brantley and Jason Kipnis presented two representatives from the RBI team their award — and then brought the rest of their teammates out to help celebrate. The team is in town for Tribe Fest activities this weekend.
