Behind the numbers:

  • Missed six weeks (37 games) after being injured on a slide by Detroit’s Rajai Davis on the first weekend of the season.
  • Indians were 49-41 with him behind the plate (.544), 32-39 in games he did not start (.451)
  • Had two two-homer games – June 9 (vs. Seattle) and Sept. 1 (at Toronto); both homers in Toronto tied a key game the Blue Jays ended up winning in extra innings.
  • Had a career-high 5 RBI on Aug. 29, a game in which he belted a crucial grand slam (see highlight below)
