Michael Brantley meets special Cleveland Indians fan before Sunday’s game

Life is funny — sometimes, you’re in the right place at the right time. That’s the story of how Michael Brantley invited a special Indians fan to Progressive Field on Sunday.

The daughter of Kelly Oyer, a special ed teacher in Akron, was recently at Progressive Field, and she just so happened to sit next to a colleague of Mickey Brantley, Michael’s father.

The women got to talking, and Kelly’s daughter told Mickey’s colleague that at Kelly’s school, there was a special Tribe fan who loved Michael.

Mickey passed along the word to Michael, who invited Joshua, his family and Kelly to the ballpark on Sunday. The group met Michael outside the Tribe clubhouse, and Michael gave Joshua a signed bat, chatted and took pictures. Joshua told Michael he goes by “Joshua Brantley” at school.

We’re not crying, it’s just dusty in here!

I think it’s wonderful that the Indian’s go out and make these children’s day. There’s so many who love the Tribe. I’m one of them. God Bless You All.
