Michael Brantley hit go-ahead homers in the seventh and eighth innings as the Indians beat the Tigers, 7-5, on Thursday at Progressive Field.
- Have won six straight at home and eight of their last nine at Progressive Field
- Have won 11 of 15 games overall
- Have had 10 or more hits in 13 straight home games, tying a mark last set in 1936
Brantley hit a solo homer in the seventh to break a 3-3 tie, and Yan Gomes added an RBI single to make it 5-3. But the Tigers tied it in the eighth, before Brantley hit a two-run shot off Blaine Hardy for the game winner.
Abraham Almonte hit a solo homer and Giovanny Urshela added a two-run double. Danny Salazar allowed three runs in 6.1 innings and took a no-decision.
Lonnie Chisenhall had three outfield assists, the first Indians outfielder with three in a game since current TV color commentator Rick Manning did so in 1981.
