#CyKluber countdown: Tribe offense goes wild, Kluber stellar again for win No. 4

(Editor’s Note: Leading up to the Nov. 12 announcement of the AL Cy Young Award, we’ll count down Corey Kluber’s 18 wins with a post per day recapping his victories.)

Date/score: May 14, 15-4

Opponent: Toronto Blue Jays

Pitching line: 7 IP, 2 ER, 9 SO, 1 BB

Record: 4-3

2014 strikeout total: 66

Key at-bat(s): Before the Tribe’s offense went crazy in the late going, Kluber had a 4-1 lead in the sixth — yet a Melky Cabrera single and Jose Bautista double cut that lead to 4-2. Kluber, though, buckled down to get Edwin Encarnacion and Adam Lind to end the threat.

Notable: The Tribe offense scored nine runs with Kluber in the game, which was a slight anomaly – Kluber’s run support in his losses and no-decisions was fewer than 1.5 runs per game.

Game score (avg. Game Score, developed by sabermetrician Bill James, is 49-50): 69
