Kipnis makes young Tribe fan’s wish come true with late season visit

Jason Kipnis made a young fan’s wish come true late in the 2014 season.

Rhiannon Carter, 11, lives in California with her family; her dad grew up in Cleveland and remains a big Tribe fan. By extension, Rhiannon is, too, and second baseman Jason Kipnis is her favorite player.

When she’s not watching the Tribe, though, Rhiannon fights a difficult battle: diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, Rhiannon deals with extreme physical pain, shots, joint injections, infusions and even chemotherapy.

Thanks to Kids Wish Network, Rhiannon got a reprieve from her pain with a trip to Cleveland for a Tribe game late in the season, and a meet and greet with her favorite player, Jason Kipnis. Kipnis chatted with Rhiannon, took photos and signed autographs.
