Carrasco dominates again: Photos, video and notes!
After a 2-0 win on Sunday afternoon, the Indians have allowed no earned runs in consecutive games for the first time since July 27-28, 2013 (back-to-back shutouts of Texas, 1-0, 6-0)….Corey Kluber allowed only an unearned run in his complete game victory on Saturday night. The team’s final two victories over Chicago mark the first time since April 23 and April 24, 1991, vs. Kansas City that the Indians have struck out 8 or more batters and walked none in consecutive games. More on today’s starter, Carlos Carrasco:
- Fell an out shy of his first career shutout after allowing two singles in the 9th (8.2IP, 4H, 0R/ER, 103 pitches/74 strikes)…In six starts since rejoining the rotation on Aug. 10, Carrasco is 4-0 with a 0.70ERA (3ER/38.2IP) and 42 SO vs. just 4 BB… In his two no-decisions in that span, Carrasco allowed just 2 R/ER in 11.2IP while receiving 3 total runs of support.
- Marked the 7th time this season an Indians starter has pitched at least 8 innings with 8 SO and 0 BB….Carrasco has struck out 8 or more batters in three of his last four starts.
