Michael Brantley having incredibly productive first half

So, Michael Brantley is having an incredible season — and seems to be getting better. To wit:

Brantley finished Thursday night’s game 2-4 with a run scored and 2 RBI to extend his current hit streak to 7 straight games; over the course of the streak, Brantley is batting .484 (15-31)…Brantley’s 15 hits marks a career high for a 7-game span.

Earlier this week, Brantley logged his second straight five-game streak with multiple hits of 2014; he’s the first Tribe player to accomplish that feat since Omar Vizquel in 1999.

Brantley is currently T-4 in the American League in batting (.327). Other Brantley AL ranks:

  • T-1 in outfield assists (10, Bradley Jr., Cespedes)
  • 8th in RBI (62)
  • 9th in OPS (.911)

Brantley has hit safely in 21 of his last 26 games (.396, 40-101, 15 multi-hit games).
