Tribe turns first-of-its kind 7-2-4 triple play — with two replay challenges

The Indians completed a first-of-its-kind triple play early Wednesday morning in their 10-3 win over the Dodgers in LA. The triple play featured two replay challenges, one by each team.

In the fourth, Adrian Gonzalez sent a liner to left field, which Michael Brantley caught on the run. He fired home to get Dee Gordon at the plate, and Yan Gomes threw to Jason Kipnis at second to try to get Yasiel Puig stealing. Puig was called safe, but that call was overturned on Terry Francona’s challenge. The Dodgers then challenged the out call at home, which was upheld by the umpires.
