Rick Manning honored by Cleveland Association of Broadcasting

Congrats to Indians TV color commentator Rick Manning, who was honored this afternoon for excellence in broadcasting by the Cleveland Association of Broadcasting.

Manning, who teams with Matt Underwood on SportsTime Ohio, is in his 21st season on the Tribe TV team. Also honored this afternoon was WTAM’s Mike Snyder, Jennifer Hanson and Al Roker.

The former Tribe center fielder – he caught the final out of Len Barker’s perfect game on May 15, 1981 – his .263 in 1,063 career games in an Indians uniform, with 142 steals and 29 triples. He won a Gold Glove in 1976, his second season in Cleveland.

Manning is a member of the Greater Cleveland Sports Hall of Fame, the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame and was selected as one of the 100 Greatest Indians players in franchise history.

A most deserving honor! Go Tribe! Barbara Schubert

congratulations!! as a tribe fan since childhood (too many years to list, lol), I KNOW how great you are behind the mic….very well deserved !!!!

They might want to take that back. He and Matt Underwood are two of the most biased announcers to ever put on a pair of headsets. The team should get Roger Twibell and Joe Morgan to do TV broadcasts instead of these biased meatball homers.
