TRIBE AT A GLANCE: The Indians 8-3 loss vs. Los Angeles-AL yesterday
signaled the club’s first loss since the Cactus League opener vs. Cincinnati
on Feb 26 – also by a score of 8-3…the Indians had not suffered a loss over
a 10-game span, going 9-0-1 with their only non-win coming in Saturday’s
4-4 tie with the Padres in Peoria…entering today, the Indians rank atop the
Cactus league standings with an (.818) winning percentage, and are tied with
Baltimore (9-2-1) for the best record in the Majors.

THE WEST’S MOST WESTERN TOWN: The Indians travel to Scottsdale
today for the first of two exhibition matchups with the Diamondbacks this
spring… the two club’s split a pair of Cactus League meetings last season
as Cleveland holds a 7-5 advantage since joining the CL circuit in 2009…the
Indians are also 7-5 against the D’Backs all-time during regular season play,
winners of 5 of the last 6 meetings…the two clubs will play a pair of 2-game
sets this season on June 24-25 at Chase Field, and again on August 12-13
in Cleveland.

YESTERDAY’S RECAP: The Indians’ 10-game unbeaten streak came to an
end, as Cleveland fell to the Los Angeles Angels by a score of
8-3 at Goodyear Ballpark…the Tribe is now 9-2-1 on the Cactus League slate
this spring…Cleveland’s offense touched Halos starter Jered Weaver for 3
runs in the contest, including 2 first inning tallies on a JASON KIPNIS RBI-
single and sac fly from MICHAEL BRANTLEY…CARLOS SANTANA pushed
across another run with his third-inning fielder’s choice, but the Tribe was kept
off the board for the remainder of the game…DANNY SALAZAR made his
Cactus League debut and worked into the second inning, while Cleveland’s
bullpen got scoreless frames out of MIKE ZAGURSKI, VINNIE PESTANO,
