You’ve heard of the dog days of summer. Well, in baseball, there are dog days of winter. So as we were preparing for the first Spring Training games this week, we decided to look through our photo archives — and look what we found!

Check out these photos of the ballpark before and during construction; they gave us a good bit of nostalgia as we celebrate 20 years at the ballpark throughout this summer.

A few construction-related dates to remember:

Aug. 24, 1992: Construction workers erect the first structural steel beams for the ballpark.

June 1993: Workers raise the last piece of steel is raised on the ballpark, and seat installation begins.

Sept. 1993: The original sod is laid inside Jacobs Field.
