WHAT’S GLOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT?: After the team’s 5th consecutive miscue-free game yesterday afternoon, the Indians’ defense has been charged with just 7 errors over the last 26 games beginning June 23 for a  .993  fielding  %,  which  is  3rd-lowest  of  any  team  in  the  majors  in  that span…the Indians have played error-free baseball in 12 of the last 15 and all but 6 of those 26 contests overall; Cleveland’s .9866 team fielding% (48 E/3596 TC) is 3rd-best in the A.L. and 4th in the majors behind Seattle (.990), Chicago-AL (.989) and Cincinnati (.9869).

SERIES STUFF: The Indians enter tonight’s game looking to avoid their first series sweep in a 4-game series at Progressive Field since June 2-5, 2011 vs. Texas…Cleveland has gone 14-14-3 in 31 series overall in 2012 (6-8-2 at home; 8-6-2 on the road), losing 9 of the last 16 series (5-9-2)…the Indians are winless over their last 4 series a (0-2-2) following consecutive series wins, although the Indians are 2-1-1 over the last 4 series at Progressive Field…the Tribe has executed 4 series sweeps this season, while being swept by an opponent 4 times…Cleveland is 13-17 in series finales (7-9 at home), losing 3 straight and 11 of the last 15 after starting the year 9-6.
