21 JUMP STREET: MICHAEL BRANTLEY has hit safely in a career-high 21 straight games, which is (1) the longest hit streak in the majors at any point this season, (2) the longest hit streak in the majors since Dan Uggla hit safely in 33 straight games, July 5-Aug. 13, 2011 and (3) the longest hit streak by an Indians batter since Casey Blake hit safely in 26 straight games, May 20-June 17, 2007.

DRAFT DEALINGS: The Cleveland Indians today announced that the club has signed its top two selections from the 2012 First-Year Player Draft, agreeing to minor league deals with first round pick OF TYLER NAQUIN (15th overall) and 2nd round pick RHP MITCH BROWN (79th overall)…the Indians have now signed 12 of their 40 overall selections.

INTERLEAGUE PLAY: Cleveland is 3-6 in Interleague Play this season after going 11-7 in 2011…club is in midst of 15 straight games vs. N.L. opponents with 9 of those coming on the road…Indians pitchers are 4-for-14 with 7 K’s at the plate (3-for-19, 8 K’s in 2011)…since inception of Interleague Play in ‘97, Cleveland is 132-142 vs. the N.L., going 70-64 at Progressive Field and 62-77 in N.L. ballparks.
